The Falls Patio Players’ production of Christmas Carol is a well loved tradition for company members and patrons alike. Since its inaugural run in 1994, the show has been a frequent point of entry into the Falls Patio Players family for patrons, cast, crew, and production team members. Thousands of school children have experienced live theater for the first time by attending our discounted weekday performances. Our reasonable prices and very affordable group rates encourage the attendance of whole families, as well as senior and other community groups.

Alas, time takes its toll on the treasured sets and costumes used year after year. Some of the costumes have been in service since the mid 1990s and have been repeatedly resized and repaired. The sets are moved to storage and back each year and, having been assembled, disassembled, and transported each time, many pieces are showing signs of wear and instability. Our remarkable crew works hard to repair and shore up the set pieces each year to ensure safety, but the time has come to replace most of them.

Our goal in designing the renovated sets will be to craft beautiful and robust pieces that can better withstand the annual set up and take down, enhance the flow of the production, and create inspiring spaces for each segment of the show. New costume designs will remain true to the Victorian time period in color palettes complementary to the sets and backdrops, and built to be more easily adjusted to fit a broader range of actors.

At every step of the process, we will be intent on honoring the vision of Jack Strawbridge and Carol Klose, who created the show, and of Roger Bochek, who designed the sets and costumes you will see on the stage again this year.
